   FREE TWO-TEXT BANNERS

What is
a Two-Text
HTML Banner?

An advertising sign composed entirely of HTML-coded text (instead a graphics image). It pre-dates Dynamic HTML, being created by overlapping formatted tables for a 3-dimensional "shadow" effect, and is faster to download than an image. Try it out below:

Background:
Add your text (80 chars max):
Size:
Text colour:
Text shadow:
Text font:

To create your own banner for use, just select the wording and colours of your choice, view the result, and then right-mouse-click anywhere in the lower (white) frame to get your browser's pop-up menu. From that menu select "view-source" to view the actual HTML-code that creates the banner. Then select (ie. highlight) the entire code, copy it to your clipboard and then paste it into any part of your own webpage (or paste the code into a new Notepad document and save it as an HTML file, eg. mybanner.htm). Although the source-code may seem long, the resulting banner/file will only be about 3K in size.

HINTS:

  • For best effect, choose two text-colours that both stand out against an opposite background.
  • To create two lines of text, add a break tag by keying <BR> between any two words (eg. Hello<BR>There).
  • To make a wider gap between any words, key a space, then a non-breaking-space tag (&nbsp;), then another space (eg. Hello &nbsp; There).
  • Because of Netscape and MS-Explorer browser table-differences, the Text-Colour and Shadow showing in your browser type will appear swapped around in the alternative make. If concerned about the effect of this, use the "reverse-view" button to check the colour balance for the alternative browser. Alternatively we hope to make a full "cross-browser" solution available soon.
