Black's Q3(d6) pawn took White's KP on K4(e5) and formed a combined P+Q attack on White's QP.
White's K-side Knight (rather than QP) exchanges, removing Black's newly doubled KP for a joint attack on the light bishop that offers a QP sacrifice.
