Black advanced his queen's pawn to the vacant centre, taking control of White's K4(e4) square.
White develops his King's Knight to KB3(f3) to control his Q4(d4) and double his control of Black's K4(e5). White also often intends to fianchetto his queen's bishop. W-Alt.
