White rejected the Colle Sys. for a pawn to KKt3(g3), planning a KB fianchetto (in a Catalan the only player to do so).
Black usually also develops his King's Knight, to triple his QP support and further his K5(e4) control, still offering White a Catalan QGD. B-Alt.
