White advanced his QBP to QB4(c4) leaving his KP en prise - the unorthodox (ie. rare) Diemer-Duhm Gambit, which Black usually accepts.
Black sometimes declines the gambit and advances his QBPawn to QB4(c5) counter-attacking White's QP with a QGD Tarrasch Def. basic move. B-Alt.
