Steiner Variation
White's KP and QBP combined in a rarer variant to dominate Black's Q4(d5) square, seeking open play.
Black's QPawn advance attacks the undefended White KP and completes his French combination. The defence hampers his QB but is stronger than the Caro-Kann (compare position) as Black's QP is supported by a central rather than side pawn.
