THE SEMI-SLAV DEFENCE (alt. route)
White developed his QKt to deter ..P-QKt4, form a joint attack on Black's QP and support a later P-K4.
Black often uses the Slav Defence route to reach the Semi-Slav, pushing his King's Pawn out a square to K3(e6) to triple the support for his QP while also freeing a path for his KB. B-Alt.
