THE HUNGARIAN DEFENCE
White is building an attack against Black's KB2(f7).
Black leaves the "Dorsal Fin", deploying King's Bishop to K2(e7). The Hungarian, a Philidore type of defence named after corresp. game Paris-Pest 1842-5 (an inferior KB alternative to the Giuoco), guards his queen (in the event of a later trade-off) and his KB2(f7) by stopping 4.Kt-Kt5(g5). B-Alt.
