White's KKt contested Q4(d4) while his KB guarded Black's Q4(d5), targeting the king's weak KB2(f7).
Black develops his Queen's Bishop to pin White's king's knight to its queen. A weak pin here (soon false) that beginners are inclined to make (best being 3..B-K2 continuing to develop inactive pieces). B-Alt.
