The "Indian" Variation
White advanced a rarely played QKtPawn to QKt4(b4), avoiding early occupation of the centre but planning to control it by indirect means.
Black rejects the invitation to take up the vacant centre but develops an "Indian" (q.v. term) King's Knight to control his Q4+K5(d5+e4) squares and deter 2.P-K4. B-Alt.
