PETROFF'S DEFENCE
The Damiano Variation

White's KB3(f3) knight removed Black's KP to threaten 4.KtxBP while inviting a 3..KtxP exchange.
Black's Knight counter-attacks early, removing the pawn on K5(e4) - a dubious move first given by Damiano (d.1544), who noted a trap therein. But still popular with adventurous players! B-Alt.
	White	Black
 1.	P-K4	P-K4
 2.	Kt-KB3	Kt-KB3	?!=dubious but
 3.	KtxP	KtxP?!	   interesting
