The Symmetrical Variation

White's knight exchanged, removing Black's KPawn.
Black develops his King's Bishop to attack the knight (hence the "symmetrical" name), and both sides can now castle. [5..Kt-Q2 is considered best.]

When castling always touch the king first
Under FIDE laws of chess, if a player deliberately touches a rook and then his king, he is not allowed to castle on that side on that move but must still move the rook if legally possible.
