QUEEN'S GAMBIT - Exchange Variation
White's king's pawn out to K3(e3) supported his QP, freed his KB for use and increased a KtxP threat.
Black's QBPawn push out to QB3(c6) doubles his QP defence, releases his KKt for an 8..Kt-K5 threat, prevents a 7.Q-R4 pin and frees his queen's Q-side.
