White advances his QPawn to Q4(d4), prevents 4..P-K4 and enables both 5.P-Q5 and 5.P-K5.
Black's QB4(c5) Pawn removes White's QP to stop White gaining space by a further P advance, and invites capture to gain a 2-to-1 centre P majority.
