White's KB targeted the Black king's weak KB2(f7).
Black develops his King's Bishop to free his king, anticipating White's eventual B-KB7+ch. This move is nowadays thought inferior to 4..P-QB3 as Black drops a pawn in later exchanges. B-Alt.
