QUEEN'S PAWN GAME
The Mason Variation (aka. Sarratt Attack)
White and Black began with mutual queen's pawns.
White adopts a rare centuries-old variation, developing his Queen's Bishop early to KB4(f4) to take control of Black's K4(e5) square. Irishman James Mason (1849-1905) was one of the world's leading half-dozen players in the 1880's. W-Alt.
