White developed his KB to half-pin Black Q-side knight, rather than advance his QP in the main line.
Black pushes his QRPawn out to QR3(a6) to attack and dislodge White's bishop. An inferior move (here tending to favour White, unlike in the Morphy Ruy Lopez), it assists a trap but is better delayed. B-Alt.
